Carrier Request System (CRS)

The Carrier Request System (CRS) is a web-based tool that allows customers to request Carriers for a new system installation, update existing Carrier profiles, or remove Carriers from a Scancode shipping system. The CRS automatically passes the configured request(s) onto the appropriate Carrier(s) and coordinates the sending of reminders to both the customer and the Carrier when rating information is delayed.

Framework

The foundation for the CRS is the Scancode Central System (SCS) which provides the infrastructure for the Scancode Rates Group to manage and track Carrier setups for our customers. Specific Customer Rate Tasks are logged through the SCS, so that we have full visibility of outstanding rate updates as well as Carrier additions and deletions at any given time. SCS also provides automated status updates to our customers, via email, at several critical points:

• When rates are received from a Carrier,
• When rates are ready for installation,
• When rates are posted to AutoUpdate,
• When rating information is pending from carriers.

Results

The CRS provides Scancode Customers with a highly distributed and automated facility to manage Carrier profiles on their Scancode System.
